Today, the chapter is hosting its "Blood Battle of the Life-savers: Police vs. Firefighters" blood drive from 1 to 6:45 p.m. at the Summit Township Fire Department, 2121 Ferguson Road.

As of Monday, the Red Cross' Great Lakes Blood Services Region — which serves Jackson and 64 other counties across Michigan — had less than a day's supply of Type O negative blood, spokeswoman Monica Stoneking said.
